Immun4Cure training presentation

Immun4Cure aims to propose a multidisciplinary program to train clinicians, pharmacists and scientists able to work in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) bioproduction facilities, capable of addressing the specificities of innovative therapies for personalized and precision medicine.

ImmunoCell: university diploma focused on autoimmune diseases and cell therapy

We propose continuing education for physicians, pharmacists and scientists on autoimmune diseases and cell therapy to:

  • Understand the clinical, molecular and cellular basis of autoimmune diseases.
  • Understand the fundamentals of developing of cell immunotherapies (MSC, CAR-T cells…).
  • Use immunotherapies in clinical practice for common indications.
  • Understand the elements of future therapeutic optimisation.
  • Diagnose and manage autoimmunity.
  • Understand the regulatory framework for cell therapy clinical trials.
  • Become part of a multidisciplinary multi-professional network.

We propose pedagogical modules on the topic of immunotherapy which offer fundamental and medical challenge-based education programmes

Montpellier University already offers a high-quality education in healthcare and pharmaceutical biotechnology, and bioproduction (see Masters Biology Health and Medecine and Healthcare Sciences). Alongside this premium offer, we propose two pedagogical modules focused on autoimmune diseases and cell therapy:

  • TU autoimmune diseases and cell therapy (5 ECTS) to be proposed in the Master Biology Health and in Master Medecine and Healthcare Sciences.
  • TU dedicated to a transdisciplinary challenge-based educational programme within the CHARM-EU programme (European University Alliances).
The research driven training involves students working on an authentic medical research project, comprising both dry (project writing) and wet (6-months traineeship) providing an opportunity to learn and teach through research.

PhD translational research program

  • PhD translational research programme: 2 PhD fellowships will be awarded each year for the 4 first years of the Immun4cure programme.
  • Immun4Cure support multidisciplinarity by participating in the call for proposals for Master’s scholarships of the Montpellier University Pôle Biologie-Santé.
  • Additional modules will be offered to the doctoral school (possible careers /business environment).

Educational platform for practical training in bioproduction and biotherapies

By 2027, the Montpellier Pharmacy School, with strong support from the BioOcc project, will propose a platform dedicated to the production of eukaryotic cells for cell therapy, as well as acellular products such as extracellular vesicles or RNA nanomedicine formulation and characterisation.

These core facilities, which are available at the Immun4cure site, could be used to offer practical courses to professionals alongside the existing professional platform (Cell Therapy Unit).

Dissemination and education of the general public/patients on immunotherapies

We will soon be proposing videos and webinars on the new clinical pathway and new biologics for a broad audience, as well as newsletters to provide patients with information.
